Talk about a challenge! The best part? I got to choose from custom playbooks, offensive schemes, and defensive schemes. My personal favorite was the 3-3 stack – it’s a game changer! Plus, with the 25 toughest places to play, I felt like a real college athlete. Death Valley at LSU? The Swamp at Florida? Michigan’s Big House? Been there, done that.
Next up is my friend Samantha. She’s not usually one for video games, but after seeing me have so much fun with NCAA Football 06 (Renewed), she decided to give it a try. Me, Bob, and Jane had the best time playing NCAA Football 09 on PlayStation 2! It was so much fun and we were all able to play together thanks to the accessible family play feature. Even though Bob had never played before, he was able to dominate the game like an All-American with ease. We couldn’t stop laughing as we competed against each other using the simplified game controls and playbooks.
One of my favorite features was the running back combo moves. I was able to set up defenders like never before by stringing together jukes, spins, and stiff arms. It made me feel like a real pro! The enhanced running animations also added a more fluid and responsive feel to the game. It was so satisfying watching my player make a perfect move and score a touchdown.
The best part about NCAA Football 09 is that we could play whenever we wanted. We had full control over the pace of the game in Dynasty and Campus Challenge mode. We could simulate a single play, quarter, half, or even the entire game. Sometimes we would take turns controlling the game while others took breaks or cheered from the sidelines. It’s entirely up to you how you want to play!
Lastly, I have to mention the all-new mascot challenge. It was hilarious watching each other go from novice players to All-American status by improving our skills in practice drills focused on passing, rushing, receiving, and defense. And if we ever wanted to prepare for a big game against another team, we could practice against their playbook during the week. This helped us fine-tune up to 10 plays on offense or practice with crowd noise for a realistic experience.
